Plan check

Check an EHC plan

Paste a draft or final EHC plan, or some of its sections. Plenda checks each section and lists points to check, with the source for each one.

Take out names and other details first. Use [CHILD], [SCHOOL] and so on instead. Nothing you paste is stored, and it is never put in a web address. Read the privacy notice.

Is this the whole plan?

If you paste only some sections, the others are shown as not checked, rather than as missing.

Tick this if Plenda said the plan may be from Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, but it is from a local authority in England.

The check looks at what the plan says and how clearly it says it. It does not judge whether the help is enough for the child. To check one piece of wording, use the wording check.

How Plenda reads a plan

Plenda looks for the section headings, such as "Section B" or "Section F: Special educational provision". Text before the first heading, such as a cover page, is not checked.

Sections B, E, F, G, H1 and H2 are read in full. Sections A, C, D, I, J and K are read for short facts only, such as which advice is listed.

One section can have up to 25,000 characters, and one paste up to 30,000. A longer plan can be checked in parts.

Each point says which rule found it, with its source. You can see every rule in the rulebook.
