Work out your EHCP dates

Add the dates you know, such as the day the local authority got your request. Plenda works out the legal time limits that follow, and says whose date each one is.

Use the dates on your letters and emails. If you only know the day a letter from the local authority arrived, enter that day and choose “The day it arrived” under “Which date is this?”. Plenda then counts the family's time limits from 2 working days earlier, a practical allowance for post. If you only know a date roughly, enter the earliest day it could have been and tick the box under it. Plenda then counts from that day and says so. Nothing you enter is stored, and the dates are never put in a web address.

If the local authority says it is relying on an exception

Only if the local authority has said in writing that it is relying on an exception to a time limit. The dates shown do not move: the result says what the exception would mean.

How Plenda counts

Each date in the result shows how it was counted, any exceptions the rules list for it, and its source.

You can read every time limit and how it is counted in the rulebook.
