Check the specialist teacher was consulted
Where the child or young person appears to have a hearing or vision impairment and the person giving the educational advice is not qualified to teach children with that impairment, the educational advice is given after consulting someone who is.
What a point from this check says, with placeholders in square brackets:
The needs include a hearing or vision impairment. Unless the person giving the educational advice is qualified to teach children with that impairment, reg 6(2) requires the educational advice to be given after consulting someone who is. Section K lists no such advice, so check whether this happened.

Plan checks look at what a plan says and how clearly. They do not judge whether the help is enough for the child.
