Explain
Disability discrimination claim against a school
A parent, or in some cases the pupil, can make a claim to the SEND Tribunal that a school has discriminated against a disabled pupil. This can cover things such as exclusions, being left out of trips, or the school not making reasonable adjustments. The claim must normally be made within 6 months of what happened. No mediation certificate is needed. The tribunal can order the school to put things right, but it cannot award money. A claim about refusing a school place usually goes to an admission appeal panel instead.
