Explain
Freedom of information request
Anyone can ask a public body, such as a council, for information it holds. This could be its policies, its panel guidance, or the criteria it uses for assessments. It must normally reply within 20 working days. Information about a person, such as a child's own records, is not given out this way. A subject access request is the way to ask for that.
