Explain
SEND Code of Practice
The SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years (January 2015) is statutory guidance on the law about special educational needs and disability. Where it says "must", it is repeating a legal requirement. Where it says "should", councils, schools, colleges and health bodies must have regard to it (section 77). The Code says they will be expected to explain any departure from it. The 2015 Code was still the current version on 30 September 2026.
