Explain
SENDIASS (information, advice and support service)
Every council must arrange for children, young people and parents to get information and advice about special educational needs and disability. This service is usually called SENDIASS. The Code of Practice says it should be free, impartial and confidential, and run at arm's length from the council and the local NHS. It can help people understand letters and plans, prepare for meetings, and know the options when they disagree.
