Explain
Special educational provision
Special educational provision is the extra or different help with learning that a child or young person needs. In the law, it is education or training that is more than, or different from, what mainstream schools or colleges in England usually give others of the same age. For a child under 2, it means help with learning of any kind. Health or social care that educates or trains counts too.
The Code of Practice says speech and language therapy should normally be recorded as special educational provision. Special educational provision in an EHC plan goes in Section F.
